Background behind the “.website” URL extension …

Traditional domain extensions like .com, .org, .net, .edu and others are nearly all claimed or very expensive. In response, Internet protocol recently enabled a whole host of new domain extensions such as .pizza or .golf as well as .website.  These extensions are so new, even some of the biggest domain registration websites do not yet offer them. In fact, BING or Yahoo search engines will come back with “no results” or worse – good news is that Google does recognize them!
